Small Works by Liese Chavez, Glass Enamel Jewelry by Kris Chavez

When: July 5-Aug. 10 2013

If you go to the Musée Carnavalet in Paris and crawl through a warren of Revolution-era relics, you may stumble upon an inexplicable series of tableaux featuring taxidermied weasels lovingly dressed in tiny aprons and bonnets. Closer to home, Manitou artist Liese Chavez offers a similar aesthetic — bizarre, beautiful, and just a little unsettling. Peruse or purchase her small works in ink and watercolor, with husband Kris Chavez's glass enamel jewelry, from 5 to 8 this evening at the Funky Caravan (2606 W. Colorado Ave.) during Old Colorado City's First Friday ArtWalk. — Caroline Swinford
