Pre-Opening Tour

When: May 7-Aug. 2, 1 p.m. 2012

Though it remains in the funding and development phase, it won't be too long until the one-of-a-kind National Museum of World War II Aviation officially opens its doors at 765 Aviation Way near the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (worldwariiaviation.org). Soon enough we'll be seeing WWII aircraft demonstrations beyond insightful exhibits capturing the eras' innovations. The cool news is that you can get in on the action early with free pre-opening tours (donations appreciated) at 1 p.m., first Mondays of the month through summer — today being one of those days. Visit the website for full tour details and to sign up. — Matthew Schniper
