'Tis the season for giving, so let's rock out for a good cause. A benefit will take place on Sunday, Dec. 19, at Thunder & Buttons II, to help out KPC Kids' Place, the nonprofit that provides 24-hour child care for parents who are unable to care for their young children in an emotional or physical emergency. Local band Redraw the Farm will appear, newly rearranged with three members and an all-acoustic set. The group took a couple of months off then regrouped, and, in the words of singer and guitarist Abe Dunaway, "Now we're back, baby." A firmly set fixture in the local music scene, members Dunaway, Brett Coddington and Mark Coddington continue to lure in the ladies with low-key loveliness and a Phishy groove. Also appearing at the benefit will be acoustic guitarist Don Dooley, the dark and dreamy Eyes Caught Fire, and The Commies, who may or may not be just that. Good music, good cause ... go. Just because.
