Just west of Death Valley, there is a place called Bakersfield that could double as a David Lynch film set. With nothing else to do except boozing, fighting and loitering, Bakersfield residents David Silveria, James "Munky" Shaffer, and Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu christened themselves LAPD and aspired to be rock stars. After recruiting another ax, Brian "Head" Welch, and Sex Art's lead singer and bagpipe virtuoso/Kern County's Assistant Coroner Jonathan Davis, the quintet migrated to the City of Angels to make some noise in the music industry. Signed to Immortal Records, they recorded their self-titled debut at Malibu hills' Indigo Ranch Studios. Multiple platinum albums and a decade later, Korn is touring in support of its Greatest Hits, featuring brand-spanking-new covers of Pink Floyd and Cameno.
