Here's a name you might have thought you'd never hear again: The Amazing Rhythm Aces. Well, they're back with a large and loyal fan base right here in southern Colorado. The Grammy-winning country-rockers will be at Tres Hombres this Friday for what they're calling a "Fan Appreciation" gig. Hits, hits, hits, in other words. "Amazing Grace (Used to be Her Favorite Song)," "The End is Not in Sight," -- their best songwriting will be on display. These guys have penned hits for the likes of Randy Travis, Ricky Van Shelton and Sammy Kershaw, and pianist James Hooker has played alongside Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Nanci Griffith. Drummer Butch McDade is sadly gone, but the Aces forge ahead -- they're in negotiations with various record labels to release a brand new album by the end of the year. Still making albums after 25 years! Ramble on, troubadours. You're still the only non-reggae/hip-hop act with a song called "One Love."
