Happiness is a warm gun

The death rate from firearms in the United States exceeds that of any other country by multiples of 10. Yet passions run deep both in favor of and in opposition to limiting handgun availability and use.

I'm active-duty military, and I've - been exposed to weapons my entire adult life, but I have - no interest in owning one. I have a lot of friends who - own one for home security, though. -  - Why do guns excite such strong emotion in people? -  Most crime is gun-related.     Why do guns excite such strong emotion in people? Most crime is gun-related. The adage, "no gun, no crime," isn't necessarily true.     To what extent should we have gun control? I can see both sides of the issue in terms of things like automatic weapons, but it's nobody's right to tell us we can't bear arms to defend ourselves, or use them for recreational sport.
