IQ: To be simple

When's the last time you chose to ride your bike or walk instead of driving your car to work? When's the last time you even considered putting down the remote and getting some fresh air? Fax machines have long replaced the Pony Express, and the Pope probably has a microwave. But are we becoming so inundated with technology that we're forgetting that sometimes, 'tis a gift to be simple?

How important is it to live simply? Very. It keeps your life uncomplicated.

What would you be willing to give up for a year? Your car or your TV? My TV, definitely over the car. Gotta have the car.

What appliance would you be willing to give up forever? My stove so I didn't have to cook.

How much money did you spend on Christmas presents last year? Way, way too much.

How important is it to live simply? Somewhat important. I mean, you have to use the technology that's available to us, but you don't want to get overwhelmed by it. Use it as a tool.

What would you be willing to give up for a year? Your car or your TV? I would say my car. I have a bike so I could get around without it, probably.

What appliance would you be willing to give up forever? My coffeemaker. That would be easy.

How much money did you spend on Christmas presents last year? I'm gonna guess somewhere between $700 and $800.

How important is it to live simply? I think the essentials are important; having time for your family, having downtime for yourself. It all makes for a happier, healthier lifestyle.

What would you be willing to give up for a year? Your car or your TV? My TV.

What appliance would you be willing to give up forever? I like to live simply, but I also like to live comfortably, so I don't want to give up any of my appliances.

How much money did you spend on Christmas last year? Not a lot. I'd say less than $300.
