"Holy Ignorance: Religion, Politics and the Crisis of Globalization"

When: Tue., May 6, 5:30 p.m. 2014

Dr. Carl Raschke may come off as something of a blowhard — his website features the tagline, "Exploring thought-spaces that no one has explored before ..." — but he raises interesting points. For instance, there's his postulation that "secular liberalism" is having a tough time coming to grips with the religious fervor in the Middle East, a "deep-reaching, global trend," he wrote in his 2012 book Postmodernism and the Revolution in Religious Theory. Get more of that at 5:30 tonight with "Holy Ignorance: Religion, Politics, and the Crisis of Globalization," his talk at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs' University Center (1420 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., uccs.edu). Admission is free, with free parking in Lot 3. — Bryce Crawford
