Haider Hamza

When: Thu., Nov. 14, 12 p.m. 2013

You might recognize Haider Hamza from his "Talk to an Iraqi" booth tour, or the 2007 This American Life episode about it. But there are lots of reasons to be in awe of the journalist: He was an employee of the Iraqi Ministry of Information as a 19-year-old; covered every aspect of Saddam Hussein's execution, among other major regional shitstorms; worked for ABC News and Reuters; and won a Fulbright scholarship to study at Columbia University. See Hamza talk today at noon, for free, at the Centennial campus of Pikes Peak Community College (5675 S. Academy Blvd., ppcc.edu), and don't forget tell him what a boss he is (from me). — Bryce Crawford
