Diana Krall

When: Wed., Sept. 25 2013

Diana Krall's Glad Rag Doll, her 11th studio album, reinterprets vintage songs like Doc Pomus' "Lonely Avenue" for a more contemporary audience. Working with producer T Bone Burnett, the Canadian songstress does an impressive job of bringing out the more mainstream side of musicians like Marc Ribot, an avant garde-inclined guitarist more commonly associated with the likes of Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, who happens to be Krall's husband. The main attraction, of course, remains Krall's jazz piano and vocal performances, which have earned her two Grammys and some 15 million album sales. Hear her tonight at the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave., pikespeakcenter.com) at 7:30 for $58 and up. — Bill Forman
