Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2012

When: Tue., Dec. 11, 7:30 p.m. 2012

Any friend of Ray Parker Jr. is a friend of mine. I loved his Ghostbusters theme song so much in 1984 that I picked up Ray Parker Jr.: Greatest Hits, which happened to be filled with songs completely bewildering to a 7-year-old. (Sample lyric from "Bad Boy": "Break out the leather, baby / Spank me, whoop me, let me come back home.") This all comes rushing back because Parker guested on Dave Koz's Hello Tomorrow, iTunes' Best Smooth Jazz Album of 2010. Of course, Koz's accomplishments stand on their own: 12 albums, seven Grammy nominations, an 18-year-running radio show. But if I'm going to the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave.,, $45-$65) to see Koz at 7:30 tonight, it's with hopes that the "Bad Boy" will be making a surprise appearance. — Kirk Woundy
