Last night, in a meeting that ended around 11 p.m., Manitou Springs City Councilors decided they wanted a little bit of everything.

After hearing from a room that seemed evenly divided around the issue of recreational-marijuana stores, Council asked city staff to prepare four ordinances for voting on next Tuesday, Aug. 20: one that bans the stores, backed by at-large Councilor Gary Smith; one that creates a short moratorium until a little after this coming November's tax vote, which Mayor Marc Snyder and others supported; one that creates a moratorium until Nov. 2014, when Manitou residents could vote on the issue again, as Mayor Pro-Tem Matt Carpenter wanted; and one that creates 10-percent city tax for if the stores are eventually allowed for.

We were there for all of it, so see below for a few tweets. We've Storified the rest, so click here for that.
