- The darker the state, the more craft breweries it has in total. Colorado is third in breweries, third in production and fifth in craft breweries per 500,000 people.
So, for some reason, today the New Yorker decided to get real flashy with last year's craft-brewing data, released in March by the Brewers Association, and publish some neat interactive features.
Calling it "Mapping the Rise of Craft Beer," the magazine notes that the South is under assault from craft brew. Despite that, "Five of the remaining twenty-three [largest craft breweries in the nation] are in Colorado—the same number that can be found in the entirety of the former Confederacy."
Anyway, take a look. It's pretty cool.
