Judging by the huge crowds at most Colorado Springs City Council meetings (note: sarcasm being employed here), I'm guessing the public wants to know if they can see our city leaders in action at any other events.
Yes. Yes, you can. The monthly Mayor's Counsel meeting is coming up this Wednesday.
This meeting, you may recall, is the one judged so pointless by several City Councilors (led by Val Snider) that they've tried to make it a quarterly, rather than monthly, gathering. But this also happens to be the only meeting where you're sure to see Councilors attempting to work together with the mayor on a variety of topics.
And actually, some of the agenda items listed below may perk your interest. Personally, I'm curious to know why the mayor will be discussing "homeless initiatives." Curious, because this is the same mayor that has called for closing down the Marian House Soup Kitchen and shepherding all homeless service nonprofits into one — likely less high-profile — location.
Who knows? Maybe the meeting won't be pointless after all.
