Mayor Steve Bach has chosen a new city clerk from 97 applicants.
It's expected that City Council will approve the selection of Sarah Johnson this afternoon.
Johnson, who would replaced the retired Kathryn Young, was chosen after a two-month recruiting process. She has 18 years of experience in state elections. Most recently, Johnson served for seven years as the Executive Director for the Kentucky State Board of Elections, where she enhanced transparency in the election process.
“We are excited to have Sarah join our team,” Bach stated in a press release. “She has an excellent background in government elections as well as superior credentials, I have great confidence in what Sarah will do for our city.”
Johnson will be paid $115,000 annually.
