Colorado is least-fat state

It's hard to believe, given our love of chile rellenos and great beer, but Colorado is actually the least-obese state.

I say "least-obese" and not "skinniest" for a darn good reason: Nearly 20 percent of Coloradans are still obese. Believe it or not, that's the smallest percentage in the nation.

Annual reports by the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation found that the high point for obesity in any state was 20 percent in 1995. Now that's the low point. A dozen states, mostly in the South, now have obesity rates over 30 percent. Mississippi has long been the fattest state.

Anyway, you have to wonder if the conservatives will lay off Michelle Obama's anti-childhood obesity campaign given this latest news. Ha!
