House kills grocery store beer bill

House Bill 1284, which would have allowed grocery and convenience stores to sell full-strength beer, has died in the Colorado House of Representatives, says Denver's 9NEWS.

The idea has failed several times in the past but Monday's debate was the first time the issue has reached the floor of the Legislature. House lawmakers debated the bill for more than 2 1/2 hours before voting against it.
