Sure, its bread and butter may be the touring rock acts that bring out the all-ages crowd, but the Black Sheep deserves credit for its ongoing commitment to hip-hop.
And based on tonight's gig with Macklemore and Blueprint — read the Indy interview here — the strategy is starting to pay off.
By Friday, advance sales were already up to more than 200. And with walk-up sales, the crowd ended up being more than twice that.
As was the case with Blueprint's performance at SXSW, the Rhymesayers recording artist performed songs from his new album, Adventures in Counter-Culture, with a deejay and bassist, while Macklemore rocked the house with deejay, trumpeter and violinist. (Hey, the guy's Irish, what do you expect?)
