OK, OK. Not everyone is a fanatical baseball nut, but for those of us who think winter is God's way of punishing baseball fans, we can depend on Mike Moran to keep us ever hopeful. As the poet says, "If winter comes, can spring training be far behind?"

Moran, media consultant with the Colorado Springs Sports Corp., reminds us the Sky Sox, who feed our beloved Rockies, have released their 2011 regular schedule.

Last year, the Sox set a franchise attendance record at 328,003 fans. Season ticket packages are on sale now and start at $60. Check here for more.

The 2011 season will feature many popular and exciting promotional nights and will be anchored by 13 fantastic fireworks shows, including the spectacular Independence Day show on July 4th and the second annual Skyfest Spectacular, the largest fireworks show of the season, on Saturday, September 3rd.

Also returning for 2011 will be 50¢ hot dogs on 12 Sundays, nine Kids Eat Free Mondays, ten $2.00 Tuesdays, Theme Night Thursday on six Thursdays, including the return of the popular “Jimmy Buffett Night” and “Wing Fest”, and Bark in the Park on Wednesday, August 24th. Combine all these special events with the addition of several nights of fantastic national entertainers and fun giveaways throughout the season and Sky Sox baseball continues to be the best and most affordable family entertainment in the Front Range region.

The Sky Sox’ season kicks off with an eight-game home stand with the Portland/Tucson club (Affiliate of the San Diego Padres) and the Reno Aces (Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) from April 7th through the 14th. Opening Day is set for 6:05 PM.

For information on tickets, corporate events, group outings and sponsorship opportunities please contact the Sky Sox offices at Security Service Field by calling (719) 597-1449 or though e-mail at info@skysox.com.
