If you've not yet been to a show at the Loft in Old Colorado City (2502 W. Colorado Ave.), 8 p.m. this Sunday might be the perfect time to check it out.
For just $12 a ticket, the Loft's got singer/songwriter Peter Mulvey, whom I, well, adore.
I've seen the Milwaukee, Wis. artist twice here at Friends House Concerts. At the last show, my husband and I got to chat during a break with him about his 2009 fall tour — which was his third traveling entirely by bike.
Mulvey runs in the folk/modern acoustic/Americana vein, and his 12th and most recent album, 2009's Letters From a Flying Machine, incorporates spoken-word letters written to his nieces and nephews as he flies across the world.
Here's Mulvey performing "Vlad the Astrophysicist" from Letters.
And here's Sound Pass with Peter Mulvey by Mindpool Live. A little bit interview, a little bit music. Enjoy.
