Sugar blues (but in a good way)

Sure, Steve Barta has established himself as a talented pianist here in the Springs, recorded with jazz luminary Herbie Mann, and published four books with leading music publisher Hal Leonard. But such accomplishments pale before his latest creation.

Steve tells the story himself on his website:

One day, when I was taking a break from composing at the piano, I decided to make myself a “not too sweet” oatmeal cookie, made from a perfect balance of healthful ingredients.

Here is the result of the "composition" that took place in the kitchen that day — Steve’s Private Stash!

My cookie is a soft, natural and satisfying snack with a blissful creamy texture that doesn't give me the “sugar blues".

Steve also serves up (get it, serves up?) some celebrity testimonials that keep this whole music/food double entendre thing going.

"Steve's cookies rock the house! They're a symphony of flavor that will delight all your senses. Encore!"
Daniel Pink
Author of "A Whole New Mind"

You can even buy a CD of Steve's music as part of the $35 Stash Pak Nirvana:

4- Private Stash Plain Oatmeal Cookies (Individually wrapped)
4- Private Stash Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies (Individually wrapped)
6- 2.5 oz Private Stash Granola Paks (Individually wrapped)
1- Steve Barta CD "Encore Unstandards", my latest release.

Pirate Bay and BitTorrent downloading may be killing the music industry, but you’ll only digitize these cookies when you pry them from his cold, dead, piano-playing fingers.
