Personhood on the edge

Anti-abortion activists who want Colorado voters to take a second look at their so-called personhood amendment this November turned in their signatures to the state last week, but may end up missing the threshold for the issue to make the ballot.

According to 9News, they turned in nearly 4,000 more signatures than the 76,000 required to make the ballot.

But since 20 percent or more of the signatures are typically tossed out when they are reviewed by the Secretary of State's office, it appears the attempt to get the measure on the ballot could prove to be abortive this time around.
