Denver's lollipop rock band Dressy Bessy is back in the Springs at 32 Bleu on Saturday night with a brand-new album in tow.
Titled Dressy Bessy, the album represents a dirty, riffariffic departure from their far-more twee full-length albums Pink Hearts, Yellow Moons (Kindercore, 1999), Sound Go Round (Kindercore, 2002) and the recently released collection of singles Little Music (Kindercore 2003).
It's still pop, though, even if it is nodding toward New York. And Colorado Springs native Tammy Ealom's voice still sweetens the edges, even if it does drop back from the surface a bit. Though this is their second appearance in town in two months, don't take it for granted. This is homegrown pop with lots of promises.
