Raven's Nest becomes fifty fifty coffee house

There's a fresh new pulse at the corner of Boulder and Institute streets, where Switchback Coffee Roasters recently took over the former Raven's Nest Coffee space.

And where, now, the former Sabi space has been transformed into fifty fifty coffee house under The Local food truck owners Jo Marini and Sara Crowell, who had recently purchased the Raven's Nest (the business, not the space).

I dropped by earlier today for a sneak peek, as the shop is just days away from opening its doors.

Marini says as soon as it opens, possibly by Friday or Saturday, that the regular hours initially will be 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fridays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays.

She'll conveniently be selling Switchback espresso products — as you can only do tastings next door and buy bags retail — along with BuyWell drip coffee.

Pastries and baked goods will be provided by The Paisley Pantry, which prepares items that are organic, gluten-free and vegan.

And fifty fifty will create its own menu of plates made with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, much like what they've done with The Local food truck.

That said, it will be an entirely different menu, as they are at this point looking to sell The Local with its menu intact, in order to focus wholly on the new space. Interested parties should contact them directly with inquiries.
